Heute schon wieder mehr als 60 min Verspätung auf dem Weg von Passau nach KA. Man könnte den Eindruck bekommen, daß Verspätungen die Regel sind. Leicht genervt.
Being somewhat involved in the real estate business recently I got the basic impression that in the south west of Germany real estate and housing is rather expensive while it gets cheaper the more you go north and east. I have to partly correct myself as I learned that in the hinterland of Passau you might buy a complete hotel with 28 rooms for 198k Euros or a millworks business with 113 thousand sqm of ground for 545 k Euros. Lets move that to Freiburg and I'll start building a house instantly...
Having the opportunity to visit the far east of western Germany - Lower Bavaria - I felt the urge to have a little breakfast so I went to the restaurant of choice - McDonalds, right next to the river Danube. And it was amazing how locally flavored this place was: truly german waiters, speaking the local tongue. Interiors that reminded me remotely of Hundertwasser or some rural chalked walls. And nicely arranged tables wearing tablecloth and lit candles. Eventually they only prematurely acted on the world cup's motto "Willkommen bei Freunden" but still this was the first time I more felt at home than at a restaurant.
Nach dem ich jetzt mit der Airline des Jahres 2005 und 2006 zweimal von Hong Kong weggeflogen bin, meine ich zu sehen, daß an diesem Flughafen die Wartung der Fluggeräte nicht mit der Sorgfalt vorgenommen wird, wie dies notwendig ist. Jedesmal führten Defekte an relativ wichtigen Bauteilen (z.B. Treibstoffventile) dazu, daß der Flug erst mit 90-120 min Verzögerung starten konnte.
Das ist natürlich ärgerlich. Und so gut die Airline (Cathay) auch sein mag, hier scheint primär der Flughafen ein Problem zu haben. Das kostet echt Lebenszeit, sowas.
Ansonsten bin ich jetzt kinotechnisch wieder einigermaßen up-to-date. Harry Potter 4 ist nicht wirklich gut, Narnia dagegen klasse gemacht, Aeon Flux sehenswert, Memoirs of a Geisha sehenswert, Syriana überbewertet. Aber vielleicht sollte man sich sowas auch besser auf einer Leinwand mit 10 Diagonale ansehen, statt 10cm...
Rechner aufgeklappt, ins Cathay-WLAN eingelogged, Internet-Verbindung aktiviert. For free. Das macht wieder wett, daß der Service an Bord unterirdisch war. So schlacht bin ich noch nie auf einem Langstreckenflug versorgt worden. Hört sich borniert an, aber Plastikbesteck, unaufmerksames Personal, Kopfhörer, die man sih selbst holen muß, das ist schon schwach für die Airline des Jahres 2006.
